behind

myChai Corner is one of India’s iconic beverage brands with more than 180 branded stores and a strong online presence wanted to expand their offering across unorganized tea vending points. These outlets would provide seamless brand experience including clean , healthy and quality ingredients and a delightful customer experience at the friendly neighborhood chai corner.  

 

Deploying this ambitious strategy meant developing world class physical and digital experiences. MyChaiCorner customer mobile app is aimed at creating brand experience through discovery of offers, ordering of chai ahead of time, token management and also payment management. A differentiated loyalty program also helps customers accumulate and redeem loyalty points for beverages.

Solution approach

The client already had a very well established API ecosystem to accept orders, manage payments and also run loyalty programs. The approach was to create a separate instance of these APIs for the new line of business where it was needed and use the same APIs where the requirements which could be common between both the businesses.

The scope of work for the solution was to 

  1. Design and develop the entire user experience after conducting design workshops

  2. Develop the mobile application what could integrate with the existing API ecosystem and finally perform both functional and non functional tests.

Product design team at ExaThought led the design thinking and utilized the data provided the client to arrive at the user experience and interface design according to the corporate brands of the organization.

Execution
process

A scrum consisting of a  5 member team across ExaThought and the client was set up to implement the requirements.  Agile methodology with 2 week sprint as adopted for delivery of the requirement. A demo of the features of the product increment was provided at the end of every sprint to showcase the progress.

 

Each story went through the process of prioritization → development → unit test → code review → QA → visual design → PO acceptance before moving the story to ready for release and in production and then to done.
